1. Introduction
King City Pet Care is a locally owned dog walking and pet sitting business serving King City and Tigard, Oregon. Owned and operated by Jacob Bellinger and Alexis, we provide personalized walks, drop-in visits, overnight care, and other pet care services to neighbors in our community.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or services, how we use that information, when (if ever) we share it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language because we believe you should be able to read and understand it without a lawyer.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you fill out a booking request, send us a chat message, or schedule a service over the phone, we collect what you give us — typically your name, phone number, email address, home address (when needed for in-home visits), and details about your pet(s) such as name, species, breed, age, medical needs, feeding instructions, and any behavioral notes. If you book paid services, we also collect the scheduling details and the basics needed to process payment. We use a third-party payment processor and do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which gives us a basic picture of which pages people visit and what kinds of devices they use. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-respecting: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not build a profile of you. We can only see aggregate page-view trends, not who you are individually.
Information from service providers
Some of the tools we use to run the business (our scheduling software, our SMS provider, our payment processor) may pass back limited operational information — for example, whether a payment succeeded or whether a text message was delivered — so we can keep your bookings accurate and our records straight.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Schedule, confirm, and provide the pet care services you've booked
- Communicate with you about upcoming visits, schedule changes, and arrivals or departures, by email and by SMS (see SMS Communications below)
- Process payments for completed services
- Answer questions you send us
- Improve how we run the business — for example, noticing that a particular booking flow confuses people and fixing it
- Meet our legal and tax obligations as a small business
4. SMS Communications
When you provide your mobile phone number through our website forms or when scheduling service by phone, you may opt in to receive text messages from King City Pet Care. These messages may include booking confirmations, visit start and end notifications, day-before reminders, schedule changes, payment receipts, replies to your customer-service questions, and occasional seasonal availability reminders.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share this information with service providers required to deliver SMS messages on our behalf (such as our messaging platform), and only for that purpose.
5. How We Share Information
We don't sell your personal information. Not for marketing, not for analytics, not for any other purpose.
We share information only in a few limited cases:
- Service providers — for example, our scheduling software (SchedulePet/Pawbook), our SMS messaging provider, and our payment processor. These providers only see what they need to do their job and are bound by their own privacy commitments to us.
- Legal requirements — if we are compelled by a subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand, we will comply, and we will let you know unless prohibited from doing so.
- Business transfers — if King City Pet Care is ever sold, merged, or transferred to a new owner, customer information would transfer with the business as part of that transition; we would notify customers in advance.
To be clear once more: we do not sell, rent, or trade personal information for marketing or any other purpose.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or marketing pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn Insight tag, etc.).
We do use a small amount of local browser storage in one specific case: when you visit our site, we may remember that you've already seen our welcome popup so we don't show it to you again for about a week. This is stored on your device only — it's not a tracker and contains no personal data — and you can clear it any time by clearing site data for kingcitypetcare.com in your browser.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide your pet care services and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Financial records are typically retained for at least seven years to comply with tax requirements.
SMS opt-in records are kept while your opt-in is active and for a reasonable period after you opt out, so we have an audit trail showing consent and revocation if a question ever comes up.
8. Your Privacy Rights
You have the right to:
- Ask what information we have about you
- Request that we correct or delete it
- Opt out of SMS at any time — reply STOP to any text from us, or email or call us (any of these works)
- Opt out of any marketing email we send (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link)
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under California's CCPA/CPRA, Virginia's CDPA, Colorado's CPA, or similar state privacy laws. To exercise any of these, just email hello@kingcitypetcare.com. We will typically respond within 30 days and will not charge you for the request.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact hello@kingcitypetcare.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time as our practices evolve or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. If we make a material change — for example, expanding how we use information — we will notify you through the website, by email, or both before the change takes effect.
