Terms of Service
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the King City Pet Care website (kingcitypetcare.com) and the pet care services we provide. When you book a service with us, contact us through our forms, or otherwise use our website, you are agreeing to these Terms.
If you do not agree with something here, please do not use the services. The best place to talk it through before booking is hello@kingcitypetcare.com or (971) 402-1467 — we're happy to walk through any questions before you sign on.
2. About King City Pet Care
King City Pet Care is locally owned and operated by Jacob Bellinger and Alexis. We are based in King City, Oregon, and serve King City, Tigard, and a few adjacent neighborhoods in the greater Portland metro area.
The services we offer include:
- Dog walking (30- and 60-minute visits in your neighborhood)
- Drop-in visits (check-ins, feeding, fresh water, potty breaks)
- Pet sitting and overnight care (in-home or in-our-home, depending on the booking)
- Doggy daycare and basic pet transport (vet appointments, grooming runs)
We carry pet care liability insurance, including care, custody, and control coverage. We can share the certificate before your first booking on request.
3. Booking and Scheduling
You can request a booking through our website forms, by email, by phone, or by text. All bookings are confirmed by King City Pet Care via email or text before they are considered final — a request alone is not a confirmation.
Recurring bookings (for example, weekly dog walks) can be set up and adjusted as your schedule changes; just let us know in writing (email or text works) so we have a record.
We reserve the right to decline or end a booking at any time if we have safety concerns, scheduling conflicts, or other good-faith reasons. If we do, we will refund any prepaid amount for unrendered visits.
4. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 24 or more hours before the scheduled service receive a full refund or are not charged. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service are charged in full. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect your ability to book future services with us.
5. Pricing and Payment
Service prices are quoted at the time of booking and confirmed in writing before the first visit. We accept credit and debit card payments through a secure third-party payment processor; we do not store full card details ourselves.
For recurring services, billing is per visit unless we have agreed in writing to a different schedule (weekly batch, monthly, etc.). Receipts are sent by email.
Tips are appreciated but never expected. They go directly to whichever of us handled your pet's visit.
6. Service Expectations
Pet care works best when we have honest, accurate information. By booking with us, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your pet, including temperament, medical needs, allergies, current medications, and any behavioral history we should know about (reactivity, fear of strangers, bite history, etc.)
- Provide safe and reliable access to your home for in-home services — keys, lockbox codes, garage codes, or other access methods as agreed — and let us know who else has access during the booking
- Provide current and reachable emergency contact information (your phone, a backup contact, and your preferred vet)
We agree, in turn, to:
- Follow your written instructions for feeding, walking, medication, and care to the best of our ability
- Communicate promptly about anything that comes up — illness, injury, unusual behavior, access issues, or weather concerns
- Show up on time and treat your home and your pet with care
7. Photos and Updates
As part of every visit, we send a photo (or a few) and a brief recap so you know how it went. With your permission, we may also use some of these photos on our website, our social media, or other marketing materials — never with identifying information about you or your home.
If you would rather we not use your pet's photos publicly, just say so when booking, or anytime later by email. We will respect that and remove anything already posted on request.
8. Liability and Limitations
We carry pet care liability insurance (care, custody, and control). That said, we want to be clear about what we are and are not responsible for.
In a pet care emergency, we will attempt to reach you first using the contact information you have provided. If we cannot reach you within a reasonable time given the situation, we will use our best judgment, which may include contacting your designated emergency vet and authorizing reasonable care. Costs for vet care, medications, or emergency transport are the pet owner's responsibility unless caused by our negligence.
You are responsible for the medical and behavioral history of your pet. We are not responsible for issues that arise from conditions, behaviors, or risks you did not disclose at booking.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our liability for any single booking is limited to the cost of that booking. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct).
9. Communications
By providing your mobile phone number, you consent to receive text messages from King City Pet Care related to your bookings and pet-care service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for assistance. See our Privacy Policy for more details on how we handle your information.
10. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as our practices or the law evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through the website or by email. Continued use of our services after a change goes into effect means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington County, Oregon, and both you and we agree to that jurisdiction and venue.
